One of Worthy Grand Matron Bev Donham’s projects was to have Eastern Star and other Masonic Family folks walk in and raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association walk. On Sunday, 29 September we all met in Omaha at Mid-Town Crossing for the walk. It was a great day with hundreds of participants. WGM Bev’s project raised $4,500 for Alzheimer’s research! Thank you to all of you who donated to have me walk in this great event!

Great article on converting old Lodges into condos! Seems like a hot market!

As the last step in our renovations on the new Grand Lodge building, we are having the old, decrepit parking lot replace with concrete for a long lasting parking lot. Should be ready to be parked on by next week!
On 19 – 21 September, First Lady Ann and I attended the Annual Communications of the Grand Lodge of Iowa. The Grand Lodge of Iowa has always supported Nebraska well and we enjoyed our time with our Brethern to the east. Iowa also has one the best eduction programs and research Lodges I’ve ever come across. It’s worth checking out on their home page.
Met some old friends, made some new friends and got some good ideas for our jurisdiction.
Visited Hebron Lodge No. 43 last night along with the Grand Senior Warden John Maxell. The Lodge opened promptly on time with good ritual work and the business meeting went smooth. Hebron has a really nice Lodge building and has a great Lodge room. We had a nice meeting, I got to talk to the Brothers about upcoming events and AC.
Keep up the good work, Hebron!
I’m joining the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death, by participating in Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Omaha on September 29th and I need your support. Together, we can become an unstoppable force against this devastating disease. You can help in two ways:
1. Join me in the fight against Alzheimer’s by walking with me.
2. Help me reach my goal by making a donation to my fundraising page.
I hope to make a big contribution in the fight against Alzheimer’s by raising at least $200, and I’d be so grateful if you join or sponsor me. Your support of Walk to End Alzheimer’s will help the Alzheimer’s Association to enhance Alzheimer’s care and support and advance critical research for all those affected by this devastating disease.
Together, we can reclaim the future for millions. Please visit my fundraising homepage to sign up or to donate today.

On 9 September, 73 golfers descended on the North Bend Golf Course for the annual Grand Master’s Golf Tournament! The Grand Master’s Tournament is a fund raiser for the Masonic-Eastern Star Home for Children, the Masonic Home in Plattsmouth and the Nebraska Masonic Foundation.
It turned out to be one of the hottest tournaments in memory with the temp hitting 100 deg. in the afternoon. Everyone hung in through the heat and we had a great time. The food was fantastic and was the reward for braving the heat. As usual we had a great time giving out prizes and gifts.
Many thanks to the golfers who made this a great event and put up with me taking pictures all day! Also, many thanks to the Golf Committee, North Bend Lodge, North Bend Golf course and the cooks! Your dedication to this event is what makes it a winner every year!
We are getting closer all the time to finishing this room so we can fully move in. As you can see below, most of the finish work is done. We are still waiting on some lights which should be in this week. The display cabinets have been moved and placed so we can start putting them back together.
On 7 September, I attended a dinner meeting, with wives, of the Northeast Nebraska Masons group held at Tekamah Loge No. 31. The evening began with good fellowship, then we had a great meal and ended the evening by awarding three sixty year pins and the Bronze Jordan Medal for Walthill Lodge. A great evening overall!
On 4 September, I had the honor of attending Bellevue Lodge No. 325’s Membership dinner and stated meeting. The dinner was well done by one of the Bellevue Brothers and I even got to award a 50 year pin! The stated meeting was well run with an interesting education piece and a pretty full Lodge! The latest Master Mason that had been raised, returned to prove up and did an excellent job.
