Grand Lodge of Nebraska Lodge Secretary Interface Training

On Saturday 1 October 2016, Debbie Galli, Records Administrative Secretary and MW Reg Kuhn, Grand Secretary, held a training session for ten Lodge Secretaries at the Grand Lodge office in Lincoln.  Debbie has created a comprehensive training manual that takes the user through a step by step process of accessing the password protected Secretary Interface within the membership database. This allows the Lodge Secretaries to access the membership database for their lodge and submit reports on activities, etc., saving time, postage and paper.  Grand Master Dennis Rix enjoyed the well presented, organized, and informative program along with the secretaries.  Debbie and Reg will present this program to the lodge secretaries in Kearney during the secretaries luncheon at Annual Communication in February.

Concession Stand Crew Supports Masonic Relief Fund

W.B. Troy Myers, Past Master of Cotner Lodge No. 297 and member of the Masonic Relief committee organized an effort to supply manpower for a concession stand in the new east upper deck of Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, NE for all of the Husker home games.  The ideal crew size is eight, but the concession company employees fill in when short of volunteer workers.  The money contributed per week is based on the number of volunteers working that day.   Call Troy Myers to reserve a spot before the next home game, then come to Lincoln, get parked, and show up at the West doors of Cook Pavilion.  The friendly folks will look at your photo ID, record your name, and fit you with a wrist band and vendor badge.  You will then be walked to the concession stand, and shown all you need to know to feed the greatest football fans ever! It’s a great time and a chance to aid and support a fallen brother.  There’s even a free Runza sandwich or a Fairbury hot dog in it for you!  Call Troy today!

Tehemah Shrine Circus May 17, 2016 in Hastings

The Grand Master, Dennis Rix and his Lady Nan visited Illustrious Sir Ron Nielsen and his Divan at the Tehemah Shrine Circus in Hastings on May 17, 2016.  Circus owner James Christy put on a terrific show and was a very gracious host, allowing the children to come ringside during the ‘whistle’ skit.  The building was full of smiles and wonder from the appreciative crowd.  GM Dennis was like a kid again!  It was such fun, and all while raising money to help fund the Shrine Hospitals.

Victory Lodge No. 310 Raises Two New Masons

David Dust was raised to the degree of a Master Mason at Victory Lodge No. 310 in Valley today.  James Duff had been raised earlier, but due to work commitments was unable to receive the lectures.  Both new Master Masons were able to enjoy the lectures.  MW Dennis Rix had the honor of introducing Brother David to the setting maul.  WB Rob King conferred the degree and WB K. Roger Dill raised David.  Excellent work by all involved.
