Members of Friend Lodge 73 Receive Year Pins

Cornerstone Laying at St James United Methodist Church in Bellevue

On Saturday, August 26, 2017, the Grand Lodge officers of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Nebraska performed the cornerstone laying ceremony at St James United Methodist Church in Bellevue.

Lininger Lodge Holds Eclipse Lodge in Falls City

George W. Lininger Lodge No. 268 hosted an “Eclipse Lodge” on August 21, 2017.  The event took place a few miles north of Falls City, Nebraska on the family farm of the Lodge’s Worshipful Master David Meinzer.  Despite the crummy weather of rain showers before lunch and clouds that obscured most of the eclipse, more than 120 people enjoyed the fellowship, food, and opportunity to get together.  Among those attending was a Mason and his family from Texas and Masons from lodges in the greater Omaha area.

 

 

Grand Master Presents Gold Jordan Medal

Most Worshipful Rick Myers presented the Gold Jordan Medal to Worshipful Brother Dennis Aksamit on August 14, 2017 at his home in Beatrice. The Gold Jordan Medal is awarded to the Nebraska Mason who has been a member of the Fraternity longer than any other Nebraska Mason living in the state.

W.B. Aksamit was raised in Blue Valley Lodge No. 64 in Milford on March 2, 1942. He became a dual member of Beatrice Lodge No. 26 in 1997. He served as Worshipful Master in Blue Valley Lodge in 1951 and in Beatrice Lodge in 1985. Several members of both lodges attended the presentation to support Brother Aksamit.

Grand Lodge Presents Van to DAV

On August 9, 2017 a 2017 Ford Flex was donated to the Omaha VA Hospital for patient transportation. The van purchase was made possible from money donated by Masons and the Grand Chapter Order of the Eastern Star across Nebraska to the Masonic Veterans Partnership (MVP). The fob for the van is shown being passed to Mr. Don Burman, Director for the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System, and Mr. Mike Jackman, the DAV Department Commander, by WB AJ Johnson Personal Representative to the Grand Master and Chairman of the Nebraska MVP Committee after the fob was handed to WB Johnson by MW Rick Myers, Grand Master of the Masons of Nebraska.

Grand Master Presents Year Pin for Grand Lodge of Illinois

On August 1, 2017, on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Illinois, Grand Master Rick Myers presented a 50-year pin to Brother Gary Calhoun at his home in Omaha.

 

Assisting MW Rick were RW Ron Stites, Grand Junior Warden, and WB AJ Johnson, Personal Representative to the Grand Master.  Peggy Calhoon pins her husband B. Gary Calhoon with his Illinois 50-year pin.

 

Cornestone for New Building of Ashlar Lodge

On August 5th, The Grand Lodge Officers performed the cornerstone ceremony for the new lodge building of Ashlar Lodge No. 33 in Grand Island.

 

 

Grand Master Presents Lewis Jewels to 3 Generations at Waterloo Lodge

On August 1, 2017, MW Rick Myers had the pleasure of presenting not one, not two, but three Lewis Jewels to members of Waterloo Lodge No. 102.  MW Rick was accompanied by the Grand Junior Warden, Ron Stites, for the presentation and Lodge meeting.  The brethren of Waterloo Lodge No. 102 receiving the Lewis Jewels were WB’s Allan Rolfs and Bob Rolfs and B Bernie Rolfs.
